Police search for Annesley robbers

POLICE are hunting two robbers who stole a moped from a 16-year-old boy in Annesley Woodhouse.

The male offenders, thought to be aged around 16 or 17, approached the victim and his vehicle in Nuncargate Road at around 9pm on Saturday 19th March.

They pushed the boy off his scooter and one of them drove off on it in the direction of Long Hill Rise, while the other one ran away.

The offenders were wearing dark clothing and their faces were covered.

Police believe the suspects had been sat on a wall outside a shop on the corner of Edison Street and Nuncargate Road before the robbery.

The moped, which is a black and red Gilera Runner 49cc, has not yet been recovered.

The victim, who is from the Kirkby area, was not injured in the incident.

Police would like to speak to witnesses or anyone with information.
