Police name man who died in Clipstone accident

A 76-year-old man who died after the car he was driving struck a house in Clipstone has been named.

The incident happened at about 11.20am on Friday in Forest Road.

James Frew McDonald Livingstone, known as ‘Jimmy’, of Forest Town, was driving a Citroen C4.

He was taken to King’s Mill Hospital, but later died from his injuries.

The road was closed while enquiries were carried out. It was re-opened at about 3.30pm.

Structural engineers were called to assess the damage at the house, which is believed to have been extensive.

No-one else was injured in the collision.
