DETECTIVES have named the 59-year-old Mansfield man whose body was found next to the car park at the Four Seasons Centre in Mansfield on Tuesday, shortly before they found a woman seriously injured at his home address.
Stephen Moody, of Victoria Street, Mansfield, was found with serious head injuries at around 2.40pm and died at the scene. His death is not being treated as suspicious.
When officers went to Mr Moody’s home at around 5pm, they found his ex-wife, 58-year-old Catherine Moody, with serious head injuries.
Mrs Moody, who lives in Moor Street, Mansfield, was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham where she underwent emergency surgery. She remains in a critical but stable condition.
Detectives are continuing to investigate how Mrs Moody suffered her injuries and Mr Moody’s subsequent death. However, they do not believe anyone else was involved and are not looking for anyone else in connection with either incident.
