DRUG users and unsafe drivers were targeted in a day of action in parts of Mansfield and Mansfield Woodhouse last week.
Four people were arrested for drug offences and numerous drivers were issued with fixed penalty notices during the operation.
Officers carried out drug raids at addresses in Yorke Street and Byron Avenue in Mansfield Woodhouse.
Matthew Savage (23), of Byron Avenue, was charged with possession of cannabis, while another man was released with a caution.
A man and a woman arrested on suspicion of possessing cannabis and abstracting electricity were released on bail pending further enquiries.
As part of the day of action, officers also tackled road safety in Chesterfield Road North, where driving offences have been regularly reported.
Licensing checks were carried out on seven taxis, and three drivers were subsequently issued with notices to rectify faults.
Officers also visited a number of taxi businesses in the area and found four vehicles with problems that could make them unsafe.
The business owners were told to address the faults before the cars could be used for business again.
Said Insp Mark Webster: “The day of action was a resounding success and is simply an illustration of the work our officers carry out every single day.
“In just one day, we ensured that a number of unsafe vehicles were taken off the road and also reminded motorists that driving in an unsafe manner will simply not be tolerated.
“We have received a fantastic response from the public, who support the proactive work we are doing.
“Residents are our eyes and ears and I urge them to continue to come forward to us with information about crime so that we can do something about it.”
