Pleasley set for a mini makeover

PLEASLEY is to benefit from a number of improvements over the coming months, it has been revealed.

Housing regeneration firm Meden Valley Making Places is to give £2,5000 to Pleasley Parish Council to help pay for benches and tree planting on Terrace Lane.

The council is to also push ahead with an application to refurbish Terrace Lane play area.

Other work set to take place in the coming months includes a bulb planting scheme along grass verges in the area

Details of the work were revealed at a parish council meeting last week.

The council has also received a request for a roadside seat on the junction of Newboundmill Lane and Old School Lane.

l At the meeting, councillors raised no objections against plans to convert New Houghton’s Christ Church into two private dwellings but concerns were raised about the access driveway to the property.

The parish council also approved a request from charity, the Independent Sight Impaired Group, for £125.
