A plan has been submitted to build up to 48 homes on land on the edge of Farnsfield.
The application, submitted to Newark and Sherwood District Council by Hollins Strategic Land LLP, is to transform the land off Southwell Road.
The 1.69 hectare site sits on the eastern edge of the village ‘in the curtilage of Broadlands’.
No details about the size of the homes have been revealed.
The site would be accessed from Southwell Road, with a pedestrian and cycle access route created on to the existing Nether Court.
As part of the core strategy plan, the applicants ays the homes will some way to delivering the minimum 142 houses required to be built in the village between 2006 and 2026.
In a statement they say: “The proposed development will contribute to an effective and robust housing land supply meeting the on-going requirement for housing land in a sustainable location.
“The benefits of the scheme outweigh any material impacts.”
