Pines trail is a bit of al’white

STAFF at Sherwood Pines Forest Park are celebrating after the Forestry Commission named the attraction’s ‘white route’ as one of the top 10 easy access trails in the country.

The scenic, one-mile route takes in green man sculptures and fantasy play furniture including Robin Hood’s hideaway - while it is also suitable for folk with limited mobility or children in pushchairs.

Said Jo Atkinson, district forester for recreation at Sherwood Pines: “It’s great recognition for trail that has proven hugely popular.

“The well drained surface is easy to navigate and the weird and wonderful sculptures and play furniture add to its charms.”
