“Kirkby must be the prettiest town in England,” says a 70-year-old flower lover who lives in the town.

Lynda Cumberland and her husband Terry, 71, who live on Belmont Road, have been admiring the ‘beautiful daffodils’ that have popped up in their garden and around the town.

Mr and Mrs Cumberland, who have lived in Kirkby for almost 50 years, are pleased to help brighten the town up.

Lynda says: “I think it looks absolutely beautiful this year - and it looks better than it ever has done before.”

The couple - who are also both disabled - say they will be out gardening as much as they can over the summer.
