The 18th annual Patchings Art Craft and Design Festival takes place Thursday 9th to Sunday 12th June.
The Patchings Festival is known nationally as one of the major outdoor art events in the country. There are well over 200 exhibitors from all over Britain travelling to Calverton to take part in this year’s event. The Festival maintains a focus of providing a special opportunity to see ‘art and craft in action’, with skilled and talented makers demonstrating some part of their creative process.
Work with materials such as wood, textiles, stone, clay, metals and all the painting mediums can be seen. A wide range of finished products are on show including fashion, jewellery and accessories, oven and table ware, decorative art and craft for the home, garden and office, all made as individual pieces. This is a very special opportunity to see and buy some exquisite pieces of design and craftsmanship.
A major part of the Festival is the painting section supported by important and well-known artists. This year the line-up includes Prof. Ken Howard, OBE, RA (Professor of Perspective at the Royal Academy), Lucy Willis, Ann Blockley, David Bellamy and David Curtis, to name but a few. The major art and craft material manufacturers and suppliers offer a great opportunity to try, test and buy materials - a great chance to talk to people who make and use these products.
The Patchings Festival will also feature well-known brass bands, Carlton Brass and Bestwood Black Diamond playing over the weekend.
Ticket prices are £8.50 and £7.50 concessions, admission for children accompanied by adults is free, no charge for parking and a free coloured catalogue for all visitors.
