Pair charged over cannabis production after 700 plants found

A man and a teenager have been charged with drug production after two houses in Shuttlewood were raided by police and more than 700 suspected cannabis plants were found.

Officers carried out a warrant at a house on Vivian Street on Friday, 5th October and discovered 447 cannabis plants in three rooms.

A 17-year-old youth was arrested and charged with the production of cannabis.

Inquiries led officers to a house on Pretoria Street where they found a further 260 cannabis plants. A 34-year-old man was arrested at that address.

Van Nguyen was also charged with production of cannabis.

The pair appeared before magistrates in Chesterfield on Saturday, 26th October and were remanded in custody.
