WE all know some people won’t pay Mansfield District Council’s new Brown Bin charge. Is this why on Sunday there was one bin, full of garden refuse, tipped up and abandoned on the pavement near the Ravensdale pub?

TYPICAL! All through the cold winter an ice cream van sits on West Gate as I walk into town on a lunchtime. Then when the hot weather came last week and I fancied a ‘99 to cool off, it wasn’t there! Not n-ice!

SHOULD you be charged twice when asking for an extra plate to share a ‘starter’ at a restaurant? Sadly the answer is yes, at least according to one local restaurant, even though the other diner was paying a full price for her three courses, too. Needless to say I won’t be returning!

NOW the queues at fuel stations appear to have subsided after the panic buying of last week, is it too much to ask for motorists to starting using either side of the pumps? Modern-day hoses are now extra long, which means there is simply no need to wait for a pump to become free on the side where your cap is!

THE introduction of average speed cameras on the A614 appears to have had little effect on some drivers. On Saturday, I saw several vehicles over-taking in excess of the 50mph speed limit - manoeuvres which will no doubt prove costly for them!
