A SPECIAL guide to the Olympic Torch Relay’s visit to Mansfield is available from today in council offices, leisure centres, libraries, museum, Palace Theatre and community buildings.
It contains information on the timings of the relay, details of road closures, the names of the torchbearers, car park and toilet locations, along with an illustrated map.
The Torch comes to town on 28th June, which is day 41 of its journey across the country in the run up to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Local people intending to line the route are encouraged to plan their journey in advance and allow plenty of time. People seeking to travel may also consider travelling by walking or cycling on that date, where possible
Mayor Tony Egginton said: “The excitement is building and we are looking forward to seeing the Olympic flame pass through the streets of Mansfield on Thursday 28th June.
“This is a once in a life time experience and I’d encourage everyone to line streets to witness this momentous occasion.”
