NEWARK & Sherwood District Council will be aiming to encourage people to visit attractions around Ollerton during British Tourism Week.
The week, from 12th to 20th March, is a chance for businesses and organisations to promote the importance of the domestic tourism industry.
Newark and Sherwood is in the top 25 districts nationally for tourism employment and council chiefs say the event is a perfect opportunity to check out some hidden gems.
Events in the Ollerton area include a guided walk of Thoresby Level, not usually accessible to the public, and Sherwood Heath on 13th March from 10am.
There is also a treasure trail around the area starting at the Tourist Information Centre on Sherwood Heath and taking in nearby villages and attractions.
