Nottinghamshire Police to take to the football field

NOTTINGHAMSHIRE Police is joining forces with the International Police Association to host a football tournament.

The event will feature 16 teams from across Europe and the UK, with all money raised donated to Cancer Research and Macmillan nurses.

The six-a-side competition will kick off at 11am on Friday 23rd September at Southglade Leisure Centre, Nottingham, and run into Saturday 24th September, with kick off again at 10am, at the Play Football site, Gedling Road, Arnold.

The tournament is expected to finish at 3pm on Saturday.

Families of players and spectators are welcome to bring their children on Saturday, which will feature an opportunity for the youngsters to have a kick about on supervised pitches next to where the games are being held.

Any children who attend wearing football kits will also be invited to take part in a penalty shoot-out, where a prize will be awarded for the winner.

Fundraising will take place on the day with a raffle and refreshments available.
