NOTTINGHAMSHIRE Police Authority will hold its Annual General Meeting on Wednesday.
The meeting starts at 10am and will be held at County Hall, West Bridgford, and members of the public are welcome to attend to observe the proceedings, listen to the debates and reviews of progress.
The elections will take place for the Chair and two Vice-Chairs of the Authority, positions currently held by elected members Jon Collins, Glynn Gilfoyle and Mike Quigley respectively.
Members will also appoint chairs of the Authority’s various Committees and representatives to advisory panels, working groups and other partner organisations.
As with every full Authority meeting, there is the opportunity for members of the public to ask questions prior to the start of the meeting. Anyone wishing to ask a question should notify the Police Authority at least five days before the meeting.
Nottinghamshire Police Authority is a separate, independent, organisation from the Police Force.
It works on behalf of local people to improve local policing and ensure that the service provided meets local needs.
The Authority does not carry out any operational policing, which is the Chief Constable’s responsibility. Its role includes involving local people in setting priorities, setting and monitoring the police budget, scrutinising performance and holding the Chief Constable to account for police performance.
