AN annual health day for vulnerable adults with learning disabilities is being planned by NHS Derbyshire at South Normanton’s Postmill Centre on Thursday.
The event will give people with learning disabilities, their families, carers, social care staff and others an opportunity to give valuable feedback on the care provided in Derbyshire.
Staff co-ordinating the event will then use the feedback to help shape future services, with a report being issued to the Derbyshire Learning Disability Partnership Board and East Midlands Strategic Health Authority in August.
Discussions will focus on issues central to the care of adults with learning disabilities including GP annual health checks, short breaks and transition services for young people.
The event at Postmill Centre, on Market Street, starts at 9.30am and will finish by 3.30pm.
