A new inspector has taken over the lead on policing in the area.
Insp Frank Burns has taken over the reins from Graham Lamin, who is now covering the Amber Valley area.
Having been a police officer for more than 19 years, Insp Burns will oversee policing in Bolsover, Barlborough, Clowne, Creswell, Pleasley, Shirebrook, Tibshelf, Scarcliffe, Whitwell and the surrounding areas.
Originally from Liverpool, Insp Burns began his career in 1994 in the Peartree area of Derby and has a background in CID.
As well as maintaining the tenth year of crime reduction, Insp Burns is also keen to encourage his officers to fulfil their own potential and to make a difference to the communities they serve.
He said: “My priorities for the area are to help maintain the previous 10 years of reduction and to continue to target offenders and bring them to justice.
“To do this though we really need the help of the public who are our eyes and ears.”
