ARTISTS could have a town centre platform for selling their work thanks to a new shop that opened in Mansfield town centre at the weekend.

Work colleagues Janine Robinson and Rowena Searby-Rodgers cut the ribbon to their new venture, Charmingly Yours, on Sunday.

The pair make their own handmade jewellery and bespoke furniture which will be stocked and on display at their Handley Arcade premises.

But they are eager to reach out to other artists by giving them a chance to stock their own work.

Janine said: “Our aim for the shop is to try and promote not just our own items for sale but also try and help promote smaller and local businesses who cannot perhaps afford premises during this economic crisis.

“We want all crafts people and artists in the local area to come forward and contact us regarding their work.

“We would effectively want them to ‘rent’ a shelf or maybe a piece of wall space. This is a brilliant way to promote themselves.

“We see our shop like a community hub and perhaps bring more trade into the down.

“Upstairs we also have a room to rent for a low cost, this could be used for any meeting groups, small parties, yoga groups and craft classes, we are so open to ideas by the public.”
