The starter pistol will sound to signal an inaugural running race at Thoresby Hall next weekend, Sunday 19th April.

Ideal from novices to elite runners, The Longhorn offers a choice of 10k, half marathon and full marathon courses over old military roads, cleared tracks through ancient woodland and grassed paths around the country estate.

The new event is to help raise cash for the Nottingham Hospitals’ Saving Lives Helipad Appeal

Jason Randall, from event organisers SBR Events, said: “We’re delighted to be supporting the Saving Lives Helipad Appeal, which is raising funds to build an on-site helipad

at the East Midlands Major Trauma Centre at Queen’s Medical Centre (QMC).”
