The Mansfield Pensioners Action Association is calling for new members to join them. The group, which was set up in the 1980s, has seen numbers dwindle in recent years. They meet on the last Thursday of the month at the Old Meeting House on Stockwell Gate. They have regular speakers at their meetings, campaign on local matters affecting pensioners in the area and enjoy trips out.
Chairman Isabella Vint said: “We have some people who do not know we exist, but we’ve been aorund for years.
“We sometimes get about 20 people at our meetings, when we used to get 60.”
The group is now seeking younger members from 50 years upwards. Anyone interested in joining can ring chairman Isabella on 07400 521552.
