A NEW rubbish bin is to be installed on Mansfield Road in Blidworth - paid for by local councillor Geoff Merry.
He told a Blidworth Parish Council meeting on Thursday that he has agreed to use £420 from his Nottinghamshire County Council divisional fund to pay for the bin.
Coun Merry said he had decided to dip into his fund after a resident complained that there was no bin in an area next to a new bus stop on Mansfield Road.
Each county councillor has an annual fund of £10,000 to support worthy causes in the area they represent.
Coun Merry also handed over £50 as the prize for a Joseph Whitaker School student who came up with the winning design of the new Blidworth village logo.
