A motorist had to be flown to air ambulance this morning, Friday 4th October, after crashing into a tree in Selston.
The male had to be cut free from the wreckage of a Metro after the side-impact collision on Park Lane at around 7.44am.
Two fire engines and a specialist recuse unit attended the scene and spent an hour removing the roof the stricken vehicle and then the casualty.
He was then flown to hospital.
A spokesman for the fire service said: “With any road traffic collision we have to assume serious injuries, there were concerns about this casualty which is why he was conveyed to hospital by air ambulance.”
