Mid Wales Opera return to the Palace in October with Mozart’s Don Giovanni - the tale of love, lust, betrayal and revenge.

The international cast of performers bring an array of experience and talent to the stage. South African born baritone Njabulo Madlala described as having “the richest and most distinctive voice” takes the lead of the infamous seducer Don Giovanni.

Wyn Pencarreg returns as a regular favourite to MWO as the servant Leporello. Having previously worked in “Madam Butterfly” and “The Marriage of Figaro”, both of which were huge successes at the Palace, Wyn is a regular on BBC radio and brings a wealth of experience to the company.

After competing in the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World, Australian born mezzo soprano Helen Sherman takes the role of the mysterious Donna Elvira, a previous conquest of Don Giovanni’s.

Catrin Aur takes the role of Donna Anna, another of Don Giovanni’s love interests and daughter of the Commendatore. Catrin, originally from West Wales, understudied the role with Glyndebourne Touring Opera and was the recipient of the first ever Dame Shirley Bassey Vocal award while studying at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.

Don Giovanni will be at Mansfield Palace Theatre on Sunday 14th October @ 7.30pm.
