TALENTED members of a Mansfield performance group are set to celebrate 40 years of entertainment with a special Mansfield Palace Theatre show on Sunday.
Masque Productions are bringing a night of variety to the theatre for their one-off show, That’s Entertainment.
The new show features songs from classic musicals including South Pacific, Oliver, 42nd Street and present day blockbusters Wicked, Les Miserables, Mamma Mia and many more.
There will also be classic comedy sketches, an acrobatic comedy act and fantastic dance routines from the Benson Studio Dancers.
The show is the perfect way to cap off 40 years since the group was set up in 1971.
Masque Productions chairman Andrew Wolden said: “I am proud of the achievements of the society and of the dedicated members who perform and give up their time to bring high quality amateur theatre to Mansfield audiences.”
The group formed when the Masque Players, formed in the 1960s, folded because of illness.
Enthusiasm for the group’s activities saw it reform under a new name.
Since then the company have gone from strength-to-strength producing major West End and Broadway style musicals.
Their most recent production was the sell out show The Full Monty, which played to packed Mansfield Palace Theatre audiences.
The group are currently busy rehearsing for their next production of Lionel Bart’s WW2 musical, BLITZ!
l Tickets for That’s Entertainment are priced £9 and are available from the theatre box office on Mansfield 633133.
