A Mansfield Woodhouse community activist and company director is taking on yet another charity challenge.

Maria Gibson-Fisher (49), who is a director and operations manager at Untapped Resources, will take on the 5km Pretty Muddy Race for Life at Clumber Park on Sunday.

Maria, a self-confessed non-athlete, said: “I am doing the Pretty Muddy for Cancer Research UK because my partner has prostate cancer.

“I want to raise at least £500 and hope people will sponsor me by going to my online fundraising page www.justgiving.com/mariagibson1965.”

The mum of three and grandma of four, says she has never done anything like this before, hasn’t done a lot of training and is totally unfit.

She added: “It’s supposed to be a fun run so I am going to just go and do it.”

Untapped Resources is an award-winning community interest company based in Mansfield who support local people by offering work-based learning opportunities.
