A teenager will be flying the flag for Mansfield at the semi-finals of a national beauty pageant.
Natteleigh Sydney-Smith, 16, of Scholars Way, has been chosen out of hundreds of girls across the country for the title of Miss Teen Great Britain 2014.
She is also competing to be named Miss Charity and Miss Popularity in the competition.
The semi-finals of the pageant will be held online next April, with the final to take place in Blackpool next August.
Natteleigh said: “I’ve never done anything like this before. I’m definitely looking forward to it.
“It would be a dream come true if I won.”
Over the coming months, Natteleigh will need to undertake a number of fundraising activities as part of the competition.
“Miss Teen Great Britain is about much more than a pretty face, “ she said.
“All Miss Teen Great Britain semi-finalists are each being invited to raise funds and awareness for Claire House Children’s Hospice.
“For Miss Charity I have to raise the most funds for Claire House Children’s Hospice, which will let me win the Miss Teen Charity award and will win a place in the 2014 Miss Teen Great Britain grand final.
“For Miss Popularity I have to upload a profile picture to Facebook and the semi-finalist’s photo with the most individual ‘likes’ will be the winner of the Miss Teen Popularity award.” To support Natteleigh and make a donation, visit www.justgiving.com/Natteleigh-Sydney-Smith.
