Mansfield’s answer to Kate Moss hopes to put the town on the world stage this weekend as one of 60 finalists in the Miss England competition.
Twenty-year-old Alice Kurylo was crowned Miss Mansfield in October last year.
Now she faces four days of photoshoots, interviews and ten different contests including popularity, ecology awareness, fitness and beach body.
The gruelling contest will be held this weekend in the seaside setting of Toquay, Devon.
Said Alice: “I am very excited about it.
“I have enjoyed every moment of being Miss Mansfield so to go down and compete with everyone else will be really fun.
“I have danced for ten years but never done any kind of modelling.”
Public speaking will no doubt be expected but Alice is not overly worried and says she will fall back on her acting experience at Mansfield’s Expressions Performing Arts to see her through.
She Added: “I normally practice a speech millions of times before I do it.
“I get very nervous because I do not want anything to go wrong but, touch wood, nothing has so far.
“I am absolutely overwhelmed to have got this far already”
The homegrown stunner said she would be over the moon if she could win the England title and had the opportunity to perform the duties of a beauty queen for the country.
She added: “I have done some amazing things as Miss Mansfield and I imagine it would just be a bigger scale.”
