Mansfield’s set for a festival of Christmas fun

Information about all the free and low-cost activities on across the District over the festive season will be available from Thursday in the Mansfield Xmas Festival booklet.

Copies of the guide have been sent to schools and will also be available in leisure centres, doctors and dental surgeries, community centres and Council buildings. The information will also be available at www.mansfieldxmasfestival.com

The Xmas Festival starts with The Big Switch On in Mansfield Town Centre on Sunday 18th November, and finishes on 6th January with the final performance of the Palace Theatre’s pantomime, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Throughout November, December and into January there are plenty of activities suitable for all the family. There’s a treasure trail, free horse and carriage rides in the Market Place, craft workshops for children, a selection of Christmas markets and fairs for lots of fantastic gift ideas, a fairground, a Victorian Farmers’ Market, children’s parties and a pottery painting evening for adults.

The booklet also provides the dates and times of Santa’s Grotto in the Four Seasons Shopping Centre and late night shopping in the town centre.

There are events across the District including the Christmas Lights Switch On in Mansfield Woodhouse on 22 November from 4.30pm-5.30pm and on 8th December there’s a Christmas Extravaganza including a parade, Santa’s Grotto, on-stage entertainment and a variety of stalls and activities from 11.30am-3pm. There’s also a Christmas Market and late night shopping evening in Warsop on th6 December from 4pm-8pm.
