Mansfield rogue clown ‘sightings’ spread to Kirkby and Sutton

A mysterious clown which social media site postings allege was seen on Mansfield streets on Monday night has now been sighted in Kirkby and Sutton, according to Facebook and Twitter.

Last night (Wednesday) on Twitter @LizzyJonesxoxox said: “A lot of people have been clown hunting tonight in Kirkby.”

While @ebonyjadee_ said: “Petrified of clowns and that clown is in Kirkby!!”

The ‘sightings’ sent social media sites into meltdown on Monday night and Tuesday, while the above photo appeared on Facebook as rumours swept cyberspace about its appearance.

A Nottinghamshire Police spokesman told Chad today (Thursday): “As far as we are aware no crime has been committed and these sightings are based on rumours.”
