Mansfield postman threat accused is remanded in custody

A Mansfield man who is charged with robbing a postman and threatening him with a screwdriver has been remanded in custody.

William Joseph Gamble (27) of Southwell Road West, is accused of taking a mobile phone from the postman on Monday 12th August.

Already in custody, Gamble spoke to confirm his name during the hearing at Manfield Magisrates’ Court.

In a brief outline of the case, prosecutor Robert Carr, said it was alleged that Gamble had threatened to stab the postman at around 9.15am on Sharratt Court , unless he handed over money. He eventually gave him his LG phone.

Gamble did not enter a plea, and did not apply for bail.

He is scheduled to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 29th August.
