Mansfield pedestrian critical in hospital after being hit by a car

A pedestrian has sustained serious injuries after a road crash in Mansfield.

It happened around 3.20pm yesterday (Sunday 17th March) near traffic lights at St Peter’s Way, as he crossed the road.

He was in collision with a grey Vauxhall Corsa.

The pedestrian remains at Nottingham’s Queen’s Medical Centre in a critical condition.

The man who was driving the Corsa was taken to King’s Mill Hospital for minor injuries, but he has since been discharged.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen what happened.

A 52-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and remains in police custody.
