Mansfield man jailed for breaching a harassment order

A MAN who was imprisoned for attacking his former partner has been sent back after breaching a restraining order just days after his release.

Richard Julian Flint (47) of Shirburn Avenue, Mansfield, appeared at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court where it was heard he had breached the order twice by approaching his victim, each time to inquire about their children. Having denied the charges, he was found guilty following a trial.

Appearing before District Judge Diane Baker, she handed him another five months’ jail, saying: “I can’t give you credit [after denying the charges] and custody is the only appropriate sentence.

“It was a deliberate breach of a court order.”
