A MANSFIELD man has been jailed for nine weeks after criminal damage put him in breach of a suspended sentence.
Liam Stroughton, of Chesterfield Road South, was given a 12 week jail term, suspended for 12 months, following an assault in September last year.
Appearing at Mansfield Magistrates Court this week, the 22-year-old pleaded guilty to criminal damage in relation to an incident on 3rd July.
The court was told he had an argument with his girlfriend before going out drinking.
Stroughton returned to his partner’s auntie’s house and pulled a kitchen draw off its hinges in a bid to find a knife to self harm. The drawer and some drinking glasses were broken resulting in £30 damage.
Magistrates decided to activate nine weeks of his suspended sentence.
