A FUNERAL arranger from Mansfield has been recognised for the service she provides in caring for the bereaved.

Samantha Holland (26) from The Co-operative Funeralcare in Rosemary Street has achieved her B-Tec certificate in funeral arranging and administration.

The comprehensive qualification, which took just eight months to complete, covers all aspects of the role including funeral laws and customs, funeral arranging and caring for the deceased.

Before joining the funeral profession two years ago, Samantha was a part-time bar assistant while studying for her A-levels, but had always considered a career in funerals.

“I have always been a people person,” said Samantha. “I find it very rewarding helping people in difficult circumstances and knowing that I have helped to make a difference.”

Keen to progress within the profession, Samantha has just been accepted onto the British Institute of Embalmers (BIE) embalming course.
