Mansfield: Driving ban for 23-year-old over the limit

A 23-year-old Mansfield man lost his licence and his job after being caught driving while over the legal alcohol limit in the middle of the night.

Daniel Wright, 23, of Berry Hill Lane, Mansfield, appeared at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court on Friday September 4 and pleaded guilty to drink driving.

The court heard how Wright was driving on Mansfield Road at 1.45am on Sunday, August 16 when he was spotted by police officers who noticed that he was speeding.

When he was pulled over, the officers detected alcohol on his breath and breathalysed him. He was found to be over the alcohol limit and was then arrested.

Wright’s defence solicitor told magistrates’ that Wright was a ‘young man of previous good character’ who had lost his job as a driver due to the offence.

They added: “He pulled over straight away and was absolutely compliant.”

Magistrates’ imposed a 12 month driving ban and ordered that Wright pay a £165 fine.
