Firefighters and a specially-trained ambulance team had to free a man from a trench after he fell in and was suspected to have broken his leg.
The man had slipped down into a three-foot deep trench at a property on Oxford Street in Kirkby, shortly before 5pm on Friday 31st May.
He suffered leg injuries and was unable to get out of the trench, which is thought to have been dug for construction work purposes.
Both the ambulance service’s Hazardous Area Response Team and firefighters from Ashfield Fire Station were called out to free him.
They had to pull him out using straps and place him on a special stretcher.
He was conveyed to hospital by ambulance for treatment for a suspected broken femur.
