A 27-year-old man has been charged with robbery, attempted robbery and possession of Class A drugs following an attempted car-jacking in Mansfield town centre.
It happened in a car park off Regent Street just before 3.30pm on Sunday (5 May 2013).
The 20-year-old victim and another woman were left shaken and a 17-year-old boy received minor injuries in the incident.
Javan Charles Tennant, of no fixed address, remains in custody until his appearance before Mansfield magistrates today, Tuesday 7th May.
A police spokesman said: “Incidents such as this are very rare, certainly in this type of bustling location in broad daylight. Patrols have been increased in the area to reassure shoppers.”
