A 27-year-old man has been charged with robbery after attacking a postman with a screwdriver.
William Gamble, of no fixed address, will appear at Mansfield Magistrates Court tomorrow charged with the attack which took place on Monday.
A 59-year-old postman was threatened and had his mobile phone stolen while doing his rounds on Sharratt Court on the Bellamy Road Estate in Mansfield.
Nick Martens, Royal Mail spokesman, said: “A postman in the Mansfield Delivery Office was attacked yesterday (Monday) while on his delivery round in the Bellamy Road Estate area. The police are involved in this matter and we would ask anyone with information to contact them directly.”
