Long-serving Stagecoach staff in Mansfield have been honoured at a special awards ceremony this week.

Bus drivers, engineers and other employees were celebrated at the evening held at Lincolnshire Showground.

Accolades were handed out to workers at the Mansfield depot, including: Stephen Huckerby; Valerie Answer; Ian Charlesworth; John Dennis; Andrew King; Tony Haslam; Peter Harrison; Rodney Booth; Thomas Duckmanton; Eric Gentle and Anthony Ward.

The event was presented by BBC radio presenter and bus enthusiast David Sheppard. Awards were made to employees for 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 years of service.

Michelle Hargreaves, Stagecoach East Midlands managing director, said: “Our staff are a wonderful asset.

“Throughout the year, and in all weathers, they are there making sure people can get to and from work, travel to the shops, connecting friends and families across so many communities. They do it with a smile, and through their combined efforts, ensure we are able to run over 400 buses across the region.

“The awards were a big thank you to some of those wonderful people.”
