NEXT week your Chad will take on a fresh, bright, new look offering you, our readers, much more local involvement.
Our brand new look will complement our commitment to providing news seven days a week online at chad.co.uk.
Your Chad has had major investment in its design - making it more attractive, easier to use and to encourage plenty of engagement with our local communities.
Over the past few weeks we’ve been working alongside our designers to ensure that the product we’ll bring to you every week continues to be packed full of local news and views, local sport, opinion, pictures of all your local events and achievements, and interaction with you, our readers.
Extensive market research has been carried out to ensure that our content and the new design will appeal to you - local residents across Mansfield and Ashfield districts were invited to complete an online survey asking them what they like to see in their local paper and how well they think the Chad covers these topics.
Based on our research we’ve made some changes and we hope you like them. We’ve listened to you, and because we know you want to see more puzzles in the paper, we’ve created a full page devoted to just that within our regular What’s On leisure and entertainments guide.
We know that you would like to see more nostalgia, so we’ve incorporated a new Memory Lane page, and we’ve introduced a new feature looking back at what was in the news locally 10 years ago, 25 years ago and 50 years ago.
Something else we’re introducing is to notify you of late duty chemists in and around the area and cinema listings and reviews. Our online cinema reviewer Natalie Stendall has proved so popular on our website we’re introducing her into the paper as well.
Our sports section gets a new look too, with new and improved fixtures service, online Stags columnist Craig Priest featuring in paper too, and we’ll continue to develop our new monthly Sports Extra bringing you more local coverage and features.
Of course these new additions to your Chad will complement all your old favourites. Our new More from the Courts column is proving very popular with readers - you like to see justice being seen to be done. And don’t forget - you can have your new look Chad for less by signing up to our fantastic subscriptions offer. See page 38 for more details.
We hope that you’ll love our new look, and we’d love to hear your comments.
