Woman's death sparks safety calls for multi-storey car park

Calls have been made for safety measures at a multi-storey town centre car park after a woman died this week.

Emergency services were called the Four Seasons on Monday morning following reports that a woman in her 40s had fallen from the roof.

She was airlifted to hospital but died later.

Although the circumstances surrounding her fall are yet to be established, numerous readers have contacted the Chad calling for safety measures to be put in place to prevent people from being able to breach the walls, by accident or otherwise.

A 59-year-old committed suicide after jumping from the roof of the Four Seasons car park in 2011.

After contacting Mansfield District Council, a spokesman said they would “co-operate with any future investigations about this incident”, but would not comment further about installing safety measures.
