Woman rescued from car in Sutton crash

Firefighters had to cut a motorist from her car after it crashed into traffic lights at a Sutton road junction.

Crews from Ashfield and Mansfield, and the specialist rescue unit at Tuxford used hydraulic equipment to free the woman from the Vauxhall car following the accident on Coxmoor Road this morning.

The 22-year-old woman was taken to King’s Mill Hospital following the smash at 8.33am. Her injuries were described as not life-threatening.

The road at the junction with Derby Road, was closed for 40 minutes.
