What’s in your Chad this week?

THE latest edition of the Chad hits the shelves on Wednesday morning and has even more local news, entertainment and sport, as well as some fantastic deals for readers.

In the Mansfield edition we reveal that two patients at the troubled St Andrew’s Healthcare mental health unit, where sex offender Shaun Tudor was allowed out on unescorted leave and sexually assaulted a young boy last year, absconded on Wednesday sparking a police search.

There are also stories about a new Tesco store in Rainworth which attracted 350 applications for just 24 available jobs and the latest on a homecoming event for local Olympic and Paralympic athletes.

In Ashfield we have a story about a Sutton five-year-old who is one of just 21 people in the world to suffer from a rare condition and whose family have launched a fundraising drive.

Both Mansfield and Ashfield editions also feature the latest dramatic development in the John-Paul Johnson murder trial at Nottingham Crown Court.

There is chance to see the 12 finalists who have made it to the final in this year’s Miss Mansfield competition and 12 pages of images from the Chad archives in our Retro section.

In sport we have the latest from Stags, Mansfield Rugby Club, all our local cricket teams and our athletes competing in the Paralympics.

Our freshly designed paper includes regular features looking back on what was making the news 10, 25 and 50 years ago, a round-up of the late chemists available in the area and a tip of the day.

Also, look out for our report on cases completed at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court, TV columnist Tony Spittles and a gardening column.

Readers can also take advantage of a fantastic offer at a town centre chip shop in this week’s Chad.

So pick up your copy of the new-look Chad for just 85p. To subscribe each week, and make some great savings, scooping a Chad for just 47p per day, call our subscriptions hotline on 0844 9916464 or visit www.subcriptionline.co.uk/mch.
