Bride-to-be Tina Sage of Egmanton Road, Meden Vale, booked a 49 seater coach to pick guests up at their wedding on June 11 at 6pm at St Peter and Paul Church, Church Warsop.

However, the coach turned up at St Peter and Paul Church on Church Street in Mansfield, some 15 miles away.

When contacted by the Chad, bus contractors Momentum Coach Hire said an online booking form showed that Mrs Sage booked the Mansfield church by mistake.

This week her husband Jodie Sage said the incident had ruined the couple’s wedding day and wants the company to refund them the £300 charge they had paid.

He said: “I asked the driver to pick us up an hour early as the service had lasted an hour rather than two as we anticipated.

“He said he was an hour away. He could have double checked the address but he didn’t.”

Mr Sage said when he rang the driver to see where he was he had gone to the wrong church. After he complained, the driver refused to come and take the guests to the reception at the Red Lion pub in Mansfield.
