An intruder who attacked two women in their own homes on the same night has been jailed for four years.
Marcin Kostrzewa (32) let himself into a lone woman’s property after seeing her go in at about 1am on 2nd August last year.
He held her down on the sofa and attempted to rape her. She fought him off but he again grabbed her and attempted to assault her a second time. She screamed and he fled.
Undeterred, Kostrzewa, of Bainbridge Road, Warsop, Mansfield, got into another house. A woman, who was asleep with her partner by her side, woke up to find him lying on top of her. She shouted out and her partner managed to pull Kostrzewa off the bed and took him outside.
Kostrzewa, appeared at Nottingham Crown Court on 21st January and pleaded guilty to attempted rape He was sentenced to four years in prison.
He also pleaded guilty to sexual assault for which he was jailed for two years to run concurrently.
He will sign the sex offenders register for life.
DI Justine Dakin said: “This was a terrifying ordeal for the women who should have been able to feel safe and secure in their own homes at any time, day or night.
“Despite fleeing the home of his first victim when she screamed and bravely fought him off, he went on to assault another woman.
“I hope the sentence passed to him can help them move on.”
