Violent robbery at Mansfield newsagents

TWO young men assaulted a Mansfield shopkeeper before stealing cigarettes and alcohol in a violent robbery.
Police are hunting the pair following the incident at Ling Forest News, in Ling Forest Court at about 1pm on Tuesday.
Nottinghamshire Police said two unarmed men entered the store and ‘roughed up’ the shopkeeper before getting away with a quantity of cigarettes and bottles of alcohol.
The first man was wearing a light grey hooded top under a black hooded jacket. The second was wearing a black hooded top with three white stripes on the sleeves and grey jeans or trousers.
Both men, who are white, fled along Ling Forest Road and were last seen in Bradforth Avenue.
A police spokesman said: “We believe the men may have used people’s gardens to escape. If anyone saw these men in their garden they should contact us immediately.”
