VIDEO: Carrs top of internet poll
WARSOP'S Carrs Local Nature Reserve has been announced as the attraction local folk are most proud of –– after a resounding victory in an internet vote.
The two-month Pride of Mansfield poll on Mansfield District Council's website allowed users to choose their favourite from 10 local attractions, including A Spire for Mansfield –– the towering stainless feather on West Gate, Mansfield Museum and Titchfield Park.
The Carrs, which was recognised as a Local Nature Reserve in 2005, was the runaway winner, claiming more than half the votes –– with The Viaduct which runs through Mansfield coming second.
Click the green icon for reaction from the council's portfolio holder for the environment, Coun Eddie Smith, and Friends of the Carrs chairman, George Kennedy.
This is the first instalment in our 'Pride of Mansfield' series, which takes a look at our pick of the local landmarks and beauty spot on offer across the district.
