Turn old cars into cash for wildlife with Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust
Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust is serving up a “bangers and cash” initiative as part of a novel fund-raising drive to boost its vital work countywide.
To help raise vital funds for their work, they have joined the Giveacar scheme, a non-profit social enterprise which collects unwanted and unused cars for charity – turning scrap into cash.
Regardless of their condition, cars are collected free-of-charge nationwide by Giveacar then sold through an online auction or disposed of at an authorised treatment facility.
Speaking about the scheme, Erin McDaid, Communications and Marketing Manager, said: “As the first environmental charity in Nottinghamshire to join this valuable scheme, it is great to be involved in an initiative which is all about recycling cars and reducing landfill – and every old car donated will help us protect Nottinghamshire’s wildlife for the future too!”.
The scheme is also intended to discourage owners who may consider abandoning their cars, spoiling the appearance of the local environment and also costing local taxpayers’ money to remove and dispose of it.
