Traffic news: M1 closure causing traffic chaos in Ashfield

The M1 is shut between J29 and J30 northbound following a collision between two lorries earlier this morning.

Two people have been left injured and emergency services are on the scene, while diversions are in the place.

The crash has had a major knock-on effect to surrounding roads with stationary traffic being reported on the A38 close to J28 of the M1.

There is also stationary traffic on the A38 heading into Sutton.

Traffic is also starting to back up on Derby Road through Annesley from the J27 turn off to the Diamond Avenue in Kirkby.

Traffic is heavy on King’s Mill Road East and Beck Lane in Skegby as motorists look to find an alternative route back on to the motorway.

Delays are also building on the A60 through Ravenshead.

Elsewhere there are minor delays on Sherwood Way East and Kirklington Road in Rainworth and 12 minute delays on the A614 Old Rufford Road heading towards Ollerton Roundabout.

Minor delays are also being reported through Mansfield Woodhouse in both directions close to Arun Dale.
