ONE of Mansfield’s most popular live music venues which has played a key role in promoting local talent and holding fundraising events closed its doors for the last time at the weekend.
The Town Mill, on Bridge Street, closed on Saturday night - and the smoking ban, the on-going recession and a rise in beer prices have all be blamed for its demise.
Since it opened on 5th July 2002, The Town Mill has become well-known in Mansfield and beyond for offering a variety of styles of music and is the place where many bands made their name.
Over the years, The Town Mill has hosted countless charity events, raising thousands of pounds for good causes such as Pasic (Parent’s Association for Seriously Ill Children) and Oxfam.
